It does that through five different types of play, all contained in a single beautifully made beechwood bowl.

The puzzle base features a "How Am I Feeling?" emotion wheel with six feeling zones - Excited, Overwhelmed, Worried or Nervous, Sad or Upset, Calm or Tired, and Angry or Frustrated. Each zone holds a Calm Crew character whose emotion matches. Benny the Bear lives in the Angry or Frustrated zone. Hazel the Hedgehog in Overwhelmed. Lila the Fox in Worried or Nervous. Each character piece has an emotion symbol engraved on the back, which connects to the included reference card and gives parents the exact coping strategy to try in that moment.

Beyond the emotion wheel, the same pieces become a magnetic fishing game using the included wooden rod with magnetic tip, a threading activity using the cotton cord and wooden lid, an open-ended imaginative play set with the full Calm Crew cast, and a storytelling tool for conversations about feelings that children actually want to have.
